So recently, meaning yesterday, an unfortunate thing happened. My poor warn out LL Bean backpack that i’ve had for who knows how long, at the very least since middle school, broke. I think the prongs on the zipper have started to break off… I didn’t even know that was possible. Basically, i’ve got to get a new backpack. While i’ve been looking and seeing that the ones in the bookstore are incredibly overpriced, a fellow classmate of mine has convinced me to look into Patagonia. They seem to be excellent bookbags, and for what i need not a bad price. So… Patagonia is an outdoor brand all I can think about it hiking and being outdoors now. I just have this ridiculous urge to go camping or hiking or something. Its been so long and its something i’ve been wanting to do for years now. Unfortunately, Louisiana is not the most mountainous state in the US, and the closest hiking trail is probably about 2 hours away. None the less i just have this craving for the outdoors. I don’t know whether I love the idea of getting an outdoor backpack or using the backpack outdoors but all i know is I want one… and I want one bad. My mom use to tell me that she always thought I would be a rock climber because when i was little i use to have to step on every single rock on all the hikes we went on. I was probably just a little kid, and as i grew up I couldn’t appreciate our spring breaks in the Mountains hiking. I was really missing out, but hopefully in the future that will all change, I have more respect for the outdoors now, than I probably ever will.

An update

So its been a little while since my last blog, I decided… while i wanted to write a blog, I was going to wait till I have something to say. So, basically i’m going to give you an update of my life. Some of you may not care, if you are one of those lovely people you can get off my blog pronto, thanks So, its about the 5th week into my last semester at LSU, its been relatively stressful as one should expect it to be, but not overwhelming yet. My synthesis teacher unfortunately is on medical leave until who knows when so the amount of help we can get on our collection is limited. Luckily, my old patternmaking teacher came out of her very recent retirement to help us. Oh how i have missed her expertise, however, she is still absolutely terrifying. I fear every time she looks at my patterns i’m gonna get one of these “What is this? you need to fix this.” Oh the memories…just horrific. But, none the less I appreciate her cause if you have a problem, she may make you feel like youre worthless in the process but she can literally teach you how to do anything, for that I am grateful. And off topic, WHITNEY HOUSTON DIED! no no no no no. ok but back to what i was saying about my update. So thats that right now. I’m taking it one day at a time, i’m actually very happy at this point in my life. I have wonderful friends and family. There is definitely some stuff that I think needs to be talked out with some people but i have faith that it will work out. I mean, its been this long, so i’m not worried anymore… at least i’m going to try not to worry. My goal is to just be happy and stay positive. On the positivity note, BASEBALL STARTS NEXT WEEKEND. Who is excited? This girl, right here. My favorite sporting event with my favorite people, i’m thinking YES.

RIP Whitney. Everyone enjoy her amazing gift!

Just a Little Funk.

Do you ever feel like you are just fed up with everything? Cause that is kind of where I’m at and its only the first week of school. I am a little too over emotional to be dealing with all this. The worst part is I don’t even know why. Do you ever just cry for no real reason, or over something that really isn’t even a big deal? well there it is, that is my life as of now. I’m already ready to have a break and go home. I just want to go home to my family and my dogs, i really feel like that would make me happy right now. I don’t want to do these projects and all this work. This semester is just going to be constant money output, that alone is stressful enough to think about, and then all the other things that are going on. I try to stay positive and be a good person and a good friend, but sometimes it just doesn’t always work out the way you want. I feel like there are signs all over the place for stuff. Just little things that happen, when i went to the doctors the nurse actually said to me “Maybe its trying to tell you to slow down” My mother says that to me constantly! however I hardly feel like that was the appropriate treatment for me to slow down. But do things ever happen and you’re just like “woah” because thats pretty constant these days. Look ok, if you’re trying to tell me something, I got it, but if you could let me know what it means I would be more than grateful.

Week 1 Louisiana, 2012.

Well its my first complete week back in Louisiana, its been nice really. I had a wonderful break at home, I wasn’t really ready to leave my family and a few nameable people but Newport News I am rarely sad to say goodbye to. I find myself dodging certain restaurants and places in fear of seeing people from my high school that just made my life miserable because they were with the “in” crowd, I assume that would put me in the “out” crowd. While I love seeing my close friends, they all live in other areas or states so its hardly enough to make me want to come home. I did a lot of sleeping, tv watching, eating, and drinking. It was relaxing and somehow I was constantly stressed. Stressed about this next semester, my last semester. Lets be real, what isn’t there to stress about when it comes your last semester of school, you have to worry about getting an internship, a job, where you’re gonna be. Oh how I miss the days where the only care i had was what kind of coffee do I want to get in the morning while I sit on campus and watch my favorite tv show until my classes start at 12. I would wake up at 545 every morning to get excellent parking on campus even knowing that i have class at 12, some would call me crazy, others would call me… well, crazy. It may come as a surprise but I really enjoyed that, even if i was exhausted all the time. Its 1133pm Monday night, Martin Luther King day, and I’ve set my alarm for my last first day of school. Does anyone else remember that day in high school when you left for your last first day of school and your parents just had to take a picture? Well, this is the real deal, this is my LAST LAST first day of school and there is no one here to take a picture, what’s up with that?! I have a feeling this semester there is going to be a lot of tears, late nights, and wine parties in the sewing lab but as 645 approaches slowly I’m looking forward to it. The job panicking started last year I believe? and yeah its still happening but more so just on the inside, however i’m sure as the semester goes on there will be many crying phone calls to my mom, pow wows with my friends, and life lessons being taught in one way or another. I welcome 2012 and this last semester with open arms and what i’m tricking myself into believing is an open mind. I wish everyone good luck be it your first semester or your last! Make all the work you do count.

I cannot even explain how I feel waking up. Tensions are definitely high. My hearts racing already, its probably a stressful kind of racing honestly. I can’t say its a really good feeling but i want Bama to lose more than I have ever wanted any other team to lose before EVER. Nick Saban… there are many words but not a ton that I can put in this blog. I just hope Les Miles can pull through one of his miracles, actually not a miracle because we are #1, and #1 for a reason, so you know what, all I’m going to say is GEAUX TIGERS!

For those of you who don’t know, I will not be watching on a count of the fact that I think I am a jinx but I will be sporting any LSU shirts, jackets, and if I had my tacky purple and gold overalls those would be ON. I’ve got my ridiculous LSU flag flying on my moms truck, which might I add I got really excited when I saw other ones yesterday, so I feel really prepared to show my LSU pride and I’m about to rub it all in Virginia’s face!

Well, here we are 2012. Firstly, I would like to wish everyone a very happy new year and I hope everyones holiday was as interesting as mine. I got to spend my New Years with a close friend on a very interesting night at Schooners Bar and grill… I don’t actually know if its a bar and grill but I thought it sounded better. Now keep in mind, we have never been out in Newport News, I can’t say it is the most hopping town on the planet, but we had to make do with what we had. Getting there roughly around 11 o’clock we get in and let me tell you, what an interesting view. It must have been reggae night, there were many a guys with long dreads and a pretty awful Reggae band there. To give you the most clear visual of what the band members looked like, they pretty much all looked like Lil Wayne. Not sure if thats quite a compliment for them or not. It was a long night of old men hitting on us and seeing people from high school who have clearly just let every care in the world go, hey, more power to ‘em. Over all, even though it was not quite what we expected, it was probably one of the best new years I have ever had. I hope that this is just the start of the new year and i look forward to what it has in store. For instance, college graduation, yikes. Another instance, moving, what am i going to do AFTER graduation (other than cry.) So many things to look forward to, whilst also dreading it. BUT, to reinforce what i have just said, I look forward to what it has in store for me, as long as living in a box is not one of them. Make 2012 the best yet!

I came to the incredibly sad realization that my journey is swiftly coming to a close. This past Tuesday, I received my LSU class ring, it was a memorable moment and I am glad I attended the ring ceremony. The other day a good friend asked me “Did it make you feel anymore ready?” and I had just been thinking about it the night before. Does it make me feel anymore ready?… absolutely not, however, it makes me feel more comfortable with my decisions. I will always be part of this school, I have no doubt that 20 years from now I will have just as much Tiger Pride as I do now. I’ve had many a good times and many bad, but there is something that is hypnotizing about this place. Graduation day, will surely be a proud moment but a sad one none the less. Until then, I will have a great final semester and attend every sporting event humanly possible so I can at least feel like i got my tuitions worth. I should probably finish focusing on this semester, but this does a good job of giving me something to procrastinate with. I think I want to be one of those old people with a purple and gold christmas tree? Yeah…. yeah, that sounds like a good idea to me too. If not I’ll settle for purple and gold christmas lights.
